Tomorrow, Friday 31 October 2025, Luvcat release their debut album Vicious Delicious. It is the culmination of a whirlwind year of writing, recording, and relentless gigging that has taken Sophie Morgan Howarth and her band from club nights to major festival stages.
Sophie’s reinvention as Luvcat has been one of the most exciting stories in new British music. Early singles like “Matador,” “He’s My Man,” and “Dinner @ Brasserie Zédel” set out a cinematic world of smoky glamour, sharp wit, and danger-tinged romance, picking up attention across the press and on TikTok. In interviews, Sophie has described the record as “a collection of stories and characters… everything that’s viciously delicious and deliciously vicious.”
This year the momentum became undeniable. Luvcat supported Sabrina Carpenter at BST Hyde Park across the sold-out 5–6 July weekend, sharing the bill with heavyweight guests and fast-rising names. In July they also played the Montreux Jazz Festival’s Spotlight Stage, a platform created to champion breakthrough artists on one of the world’s most storied festivals.
Amid that touring blur, the album took shape in bold, stolen sessions. Sophie told Dork that they “recorded it in stolen moments,” finishing the title track in Studio 2 at RAC, where The Cure cut “The Love Cats.” She also admitted the Halloween release date felt fated once she noticed this year’s calendar.
The artistry behind Luvcat is as considered as it is intoxicating. Rolling Stone UK summed up the project’s mood as a cocktail of Rat Pack elegance and gothic allure, with Sophie herself saying she wanted to bring back “mystique and a bit of playfulness” to modern music. The album promises that same balance of camp and class, torch-song romance and razor-edged storytelling.
From us, a brief personal note. Sophie is an immensely successful Presto Music School graduate student. I taught Sophie from the age of four. Watching her grow into the artist that is Luvcat has been a privilege. The graft has always been real. The ideas have always been brave. The voice has always been hers. Today, on the eve of her debut album, we simply want to say how proud we are of Sophie and the whole Luvcat team, and to wish them every success as this next chapter begins.
If you have followed the singles, the videos, or the shows, you know this is a debut to savour. If you are discovering Luvcat for the first time, there may be no better introduction than Vicious Delicious.
Tomorrow, press play. Then tell your friends.
