Warrington became a new town in 1968 and is now the largest town in the county of Cheshire. The recent modernisation of the town centre makes Warrington one of the larger shopping centres in the North West, a fair rival to Manchester, Chester, Liverpool and the Trafford Centre. Warrington also has a concert hall – The Parr Hall, an arts centre – The Pyramid, 3 museums and a cinema and bowling complex.

With that and a number of landmarks, parks, walks and the Manchester Ship Canal passing through the south of the area, there is plenty to see and do. Presto Music’s Head Office is situated just a short walk from the town centre and the famous Golden Gates of Warrington Town Hall.

Warrington is also associated with a number of rock and pop singer/songwriters including Ian Brown – front man for The Stone Roses, Kerry Katona of Atomic Kitten, Spike Dawbarn from the boy band 911 and Presto’s very own drum tutor Ben Byrne – drummer with the band Star Sailor and his band mate James Stelfox.

Warrington is also well known for hosting Neighbourhood Weekender, a live music festival which takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend on Victoria Park. The festival has headlined some top flight acts including George Ezra, Richard Ashcroft, Primal Scream and Gerry Cinnamon. Creamfields is a large British dance-music festival featuring world-class DJ’s and live acts from all over the country. This is held in the last week of August.
