Presto Celebrate 20 Years of Leading Music Education

We opened our doors in 2004 in Warrington town centre on Bankside Crosfield Street!
Since then, a lot has happened!

When it all began, Founders – David Jones, David Morris and Tim Morris shared a passion to deliver fun, inclusive piano and keyboard lessons to as many students as possible. Fast forward and today the Presto Music family and team teach nearly 2,500 students a week! Inspiring all ages from age four to Degree Level students in Piano, Keyboard, Guitar, Drums, Vocals, Theory and Composition!

“Our mission was to create the best quality / fun music education that we could. The mission evolved over the years into making our education systems as intuitive and as accessible to as many students as possible.” David Jones.

Presto Music quickly became recognised for our approach to teaching and uniquely designed courses by respected organisations including the London College of Music.

It was the first time anyone had really put all the fundamental components of music – theory, traditional practical piano lessons, aural (listening), to name a few – all together in one course. This holistic approach to learning music was a great success. The Presto Methodology revolves around using a student’s learning style strengths to support their weaknesses, and so maximising progress.

Next came our Roadshows! We started visiting primary schools all over the region, playing to a packed hall of excited children. This introduced many children to live music and sparked their interest in learning an instrument.

As we grew, so too did our accreditations; Within the first year, Presto won the Royal Bank of Scotland sponsored “Best Start-Up Company” and more recently achieved Award-Winning Rockschool Champion Exam Centre status in 2023. PLUS we are of course a ‘Best Rated Music School’ in Warrington!

Over 7000 students have passed their Music Exams with us. From entry level Keyboard certifications to Degree level and even Teaching Diplomas. We are so proud of the talent and commitment of our students.

Many students have gone on to achieve outstanding careers in the Music Industry from performing internationally and playing at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, to releasing Million streaming singles! One student went on to score music which was used in the Star Wars franchise!

“It’s been my honour and privilege to meet and work with so many talented and hard-working students and staff doing something we love every day. 20 years is a huge milestone and one we can all be proud of, students and staff alike.” – Rob Fordham.

Music Education and fun are the DNA of our business driven by the desire to share our passion with as many budding musicians as possible. This passion was realised in our most exciting innovation yet – Earlier this year, ‘Rhythm Warriors’ was released!

This incredible interactive, animated course has been designed specifically to teach children aged 4-7 how to play music. They can learn in class or online, supported by a game and an interactive book.

Created and produced with Emofront and Sparky Animation, Rhythm Warriors Piano Zone has been heralded by the Rockschool Exam Board as “Ground-breaking! Taking music education to a whole new level!”.

More on Rhythm Warriors in our up and coming Blog. Watch this space!

To celebrate our 20 year milestone we will be hosting a musical performance like no other live on stage at The Parr Hall on the 3rd December. It will showcase the incredible talent of our students and team and all that make the school the success it is today.

“Having been there since day one, it has been a privilege to see the school grow from its inception as a small keyboard school to being a leading, independent authority in modern music education, and partnering with giants in the industry such as CASIO, Rockschool, and the London College of Music.” – Chris Morris.

We are beyond proud of our team, and our students past and present. It is an honour to have served our community, schools, surrounding areas and beyond with the gift of music education for 20 years!

We have so much more to come! We will keep growing and look forward to another 20 years of leading music education.
